Robert was the son of Mr and Mrs Jerome Bickel.
Robert began his Vietnam tour on August 19, 1967. He was attached to the Army's 173rd Airborne Brigade, 4th Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, Company B.
Robert and 17 other soldiers were killed during Operation MacArthur. These were some of the hardest fought battles of Vietnam.
