Obituary of Alan Sweedler

May 24, 2016, at the age of 67. Predeceased by his parents Sylvia & Morris Sweedler. Survived by his sisters Shelly Sweedler & Susan Hemsing; brother, Jeffrey (Ann) Sweedler; nephews Zachary & Max Sweedler.

Alan was born and raised in Rochester on December 13, 1948. He attended Monroe High School. He was an excellent baseball player & achieved his dream of becoming Bat Boy & working for the Rochester Red Wings while celebrating a pennant race win. He enjoyed playing softball & golfing with his friends & family. He had an incredible love of music & reading. He spent the last 40 years living in Los Gatos, CA. Alan was a warm, generous, loving, independent individual who fought a hard fight to survive for only more time with those he loved. He was most thankful to family, friends & the amazing Doctors & nurses of Good Samaritan Hospital, as well as caregivers who stayed so close during this difficult time. You could always find Alan if you followed the sound of music.

Graveside Services will be held on THURSDAY, June 2, 2016 at 9:30 AM in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends are asked to gather at the main gate.

Donations may be made in Alan’s memory to The Comprehensive Pediatric Brain Tumor Program, Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong.

I was saddened to hear of  Al's passing.  He was one of the good guys.  The last time I saw him was at one of the malls in Rochester in 1970.  I was recently married and introduced him to Buffy.
